mousesports faced fnatic in a crucial matchup for them, as their tournament survival was on the line. However, fnatic came out on top in overtime, 19-17, to secure their spot out of the groups and avoid a three way tiebreaker.
The first pistol round, which they played on the CT side, didn’t go their way and fnatic were able to put themselves up 3-0 immediately. mouseports went on to win the first gun round, but fnatic didn’t hesitate as they took the following round knocking mousesports into an eco and getting themselves a 5-1 advantage.
Timo "Spiidi" Richter won a 1vs1 after plant situation, safely defusing the bomb to keep his team’s hopes alive on the eighth round. The German side was able to hold on to the momentum and win the next round as well, breaking fnatic’s economy. A force buy by the Swedes, who had just enough for an AWP, an AK, and some Tec 9s was enough to bag the tenth round and establish a solid 7-3 lead.
At this point fnatic started to run away with the match, as mousesports were constantly struggling to have enough money, although they managed to string two rounds to make it 10-5 at the half and keep a shred of hope alive, particularly as Nikola "NiKo" Kovač has been on form and putting in work all day long.

mousesports won the pistol round on the T side, and were keeping the hopes of taking the group into a three way tiebreaker. The first gun round went mouz’s way, with all players alive, and the team was now only one round behind fnatic, 10-9. mouz pushed the long A execute again and much to fnatic’s chagrin tied up the game.
On the 21st round, NiKo and Spiidi were trying to defend a B plant against Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer and Dennis "dennis" Edman, but were unable to stop the Swedish duo from retaking the site and defusing the bomb. With the next round also going the Swedes’s way and 10-12 in favor of fnatic on the board, mousesports were starting to look like they were between a rock and a hard place.
An entry frag by Chris "chrisJ" de Jong with the AWP and a clean B execute, however, put the German squad back within one round. The 24th round started poorly for mousesports, though, as both chrisJ and NiKo got picked off early, leaving the remaining three players floundering about the map, and getting completely shut down trying to breach mid doors.
mousesports weren’t able to make a force buy Tec 9 rush on long A work, putting them three rounds behind fnatic and in a vulnerable situation. NiKo was able to open the next round up with an AWP on long, taking his nemesis this match, olofmeister, and allowing his team to take A and close out the round.
It seemed NiKo was having none of this, however, as he put his team back within one round of fnatic after an excellent four kill round, furthering his beastly individual performance. With fnatic on eco, mousesports tied the match, keeping their hopes alive.
mousesports won once again, with NiKo getting two kills or more four rounds in a row and tallying a breathtaking 38 frags and putting his team on the match point. The last round, however, saw olofmeister open the scoreboard with a frag on NiKo, leaving a harmless mousesports out in the cold.
The first round of overtime went mouz’s way, and a 3vs3 plant on A looked promising, however fnatic showed no mercy and disposed of their opposition tying the game back up at 16. The match went fnatic’s way, finally, as the team was able to secure a 19-17 victory despite NiKo’s impressive carry performance.
